Our team

The Back Care Clinic's founder and Director is Irene Phillips BSc (Ost), BSc (Hons) Social Psychology, DO MCMA Registered Osteopath and she is supported by a small team of dedicated professionals.  Irene is also a member of the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA).

 

Irene Phillips

Irene qualified in Osteopathy from Kingston University in 1996 and opened her first clinic in Worcester Park, Surrey that year.   Irene has appeared extensively on television and radio and in the press (Financial Times, Osteopathy Today, The Osteopath, Daily Mail, Daily Express, Positive Health, Woman's Own, Zest, Family Circle,  BBC Breakfast News, the Wellbeing Channel, GMTV, BBC Radio Southern Counties as well as having written various Health Articles for the Business Press). She also holds a social psychology degree from the London School of Economics and has worked in  various management, training, counselling and marketing roles, prior to becoming an osteopath. She was trained in classical osteopathy, but believes the use of technology gives superior results. She was the first osteopath in the world to use TAMARS. 

The Back Care Clinic's Clinical Director is Gerald Fearnley, SACDip (Holistic Back Practioner/Clinical Biomechanic) who had a long and successful career as a international photographer before re-training in 2001 as a Holistic Back Practitioner.  Gerald specialises in idiopathic scoliosis and has international patient base. Gerald is also a member of the Complementary Medicine Association
